But there are lots of films where disabled people have been shown as real characters showing limitations as well as showing their abilities and I think that's wonderful. There are lots of films which are very positive. So I think films are a very powerful medium, a very effective medium and I think some film directors are making very good use of this medium to share the abilities and potential message with people.
Suggestion to improve
I would think that films should actually portray disabled people as mainstream characters with lead roles not just shown as disabled people and that's why we have shown disabled characters. There should not be a special implant but they could be part of the main film, they need not necessarily be the lead character, it could be as father of the heroine, it could be as brother of the heroine, it could be as regular member of the society. So that the people recognize disabled people as normal people as people who are part of society. |
